Foot Reflexology

Foot reflexology is a treatment that been practiced for centuries with Egyptian and Chinese roots. It focuses on “reflex points” on your feet, hands, and head (especially ears) which relate to specific organs and glands in the body. Stimulating these points with pressure promotes health in those organs and glands via the body’s energetic pathways.  Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment with benefits that can be felt throughout the body. I first started practicing foot reflexology with my daughter before bed to help her fall asleep easily and have not stopped practicing since.

 

Therapeutic Massage Therapy

Stress can manifest itself in the body in several different ways including muscle pain, headaches, high blood pressure, jaw clenching, fatigue, trouble sleeping and irritability.  And chronic muscle tension can cause adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that block circulation and limit movement. Therapeutic massage therapy focuses on working out chronic tension in the body. relieving pain and restoring movement.  Massage calms the nervous system and can ease symptoms of anxiety and depression.

 

Massage with Cupping

Cupping offers a type of deep tissue massage with use of plastic cups placed on the skin to create suction. This suction, or negative pressure, lifts and separates tissue to relieve tightness, adhesions and soften constricted muscles. As a result of cupping, muscle tension decreases quickly, and deep relaxation occurs as the nervous system is sedated and muscle health supported.

 

Oncology Massage Therapy

When I completed oncology massage training at Boston Medical Center, I knew I had found a specialized practice that resonated deeply with me. Oncology massage therapy offers safe and restorative massage for people currently undergoing cancer treatment or have a history of cancer. It is adapted to meet individual needs and take into consideration surgery, treatment, medication, and energy level. Massage can ease muscle tension, relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and promote sleep. Oncology massage therapy offers deep relaxation for people with cancer or in recovery.

 

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on form of body therapy that uses light touch to evaluate the craniosacral system - the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, usually no heavier than the weight of a nickel, restrictions can be released in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, allowing the body to heal itself. By complementing the body’s natural healing processes, Craniosacral Therapy is effective for a wide range of conditions such as concussions, migraine headaches, TMJ syndrome, sinus issues, stress and anxiety.

Integrated Energy Therapy

Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) is a hands-on healing therapy that “gets the issues out of the tissues”. It is a safe and gentle way of releasing energy blockages that can cause imbalances in the body or limiting thoughts that hold us back in some way. The result is a free flow of energy that reaches the body on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. The benefits of Integrated Energy Therapy include helping release suppressed feelings and limiting cellular memories, supporting and enhancing overall health, life purpose, prosperity and creativity, empowering the experience of fulfilling loving relationships and supporting general self-healing.

Reiki

Reiki is a spiritual healing art that uses spiritually guided life force energy. Everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves. When a person’s body and mind are in a positive state of health their “chi” or life energy is strong and free flowing. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.
